Dance - Education Concentration, with Teacher Certification in Dance (Preschool-Grade 12) (B.A.)

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Dance with a Dance Education concentration prepares students to teach dance in public schools. Successful graduates will earn New Jersey teaching certification in Dance P-12. Students must apply and be admitted to the Teacher Education program, which generally happens in the Spring of the sophomore year. Once admitted, students will be matriculated into the B.A. in Secondary Education program as a second major.

For further information, see the BA in Dance. (Note: Students in all Theatre & Dance majors must pass yearly juries/portfolio reviews for continuation in the pre-professional programs.)

120 credits of coursework is required for the baccalaureate degree with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA.  Major GPA requirements differ depending on field of study. Consult the Teacher Education Program Handbook for more information.
