This course empowers students to write and develop original video journalism for television and today's social media and streaming platforms. Using cost-effective apps, students will learn the steps for professional fact-driven scripting by gathering interviews and other video elements to write original news stories.
Prerequisite(s): COM 248. This course is designed to involve students in the writing, reporting and producing of news for radio and television. They will develop skills and techniques needed to work in broadcast news. Formerly JOU 357.
Prerequisite(s): JOU 266. This is an advanced radio production course which focuses on producing and directing programs which will be aired on the campus radio station. Formerly JOU 366.
Prerequisite(s): JOU 128 and at least three other courses in the Communication concentration. Restriction(s): Junior standing and consent of the Instructor. Field study in newspapers, television and radio stations, advertising and public relations firms, and other communications institutions. Field placement required. This course may be repeated once for credit.
