Psychology

Chairperson: Kenneth Sumner

Undergraduate courses in psychology establish a sound basis for critical thinking and scientific understanding of human behavior.  This training develops intellectual tools useful in a variety of careers and settings where self-understanding and understanding of others are important.  These include careers in psychology as well as business, law, education, and many other helping professions (e.g., social work, counseling, child advocacy).  Courses required for teacher certification in the State of New Jersey, as described in the Teacher Education Program, are provided.

In addition to a diverse general psychology program, the department offers a minor in Psychology and an Honors Seminar Program.
